Historical sketch of Randolph in the county of Orange, Vermont / by Rev. Elijah Brainerd. 1816.

An historical sketch of Randolph, Vermont, written by Elijah Brainerd and dated November 1816, containing information on geography, industry (including the type and number of mills, and the number and type of various craftsmen), agriculture (including the number of barrels of cider and pounds of maple sugar produced), and information relating to the settlement of the town. There is also a brief sketch of the Royalton Raid as it affected the townspeople of Randolph. Also included is a letter by Reverend Charles Lowell to Reverend Abiel Holmes which appears to relate to a publishing project involving town histories written by various Congregational ministers. Brainerd's Historical Sketch appears to have been sent with the letter to Reverend Holmes.
